Gagaku, which means "elegant music," is Japan's oldest traditional performing art. It features long, slow songs and dance-like movements that were historically performed at the royal court and in theaters. One notable composition within Gagaku is Manzairaku, reserved for formal court ceremonies and celebrations. This inspired the sake to adopt its name, symbolising its suitability for joyful occasions. It is brewed using pure water from the snowmelt of Mt. Hakusan, sourced from a well situated approximately 200 meters above sea level.
