The first prefecture to gain G.I. (Geographical Indication) status for sake and dubbed the "Kingdom of Ginjo" with 60% of the sakes produced being Ginjo or Daiginjo. With most brewer's embracing the spirit of coming together to share knowledge, Yamagata sakes are typically clean, soft, smooth and well balanced.
